Tools

Many data modeling tool vendors offer limited community editions or short term trials.  In this section, we cover the types of trial and licensing options that are available at the time of writing.  Since we have no control over vendor sites, these options may be discontinued or changed.  If you find the links or information is no longer current, please leave us a note in the comments below.

I don’t provide one-on-one support of these tools, but if you post your question to an open community support forum, I may see it there an be able to help you.

ERwin Data Modeler

ERwin Data Modeler is offered as a short, 14-day trial version as a Windows install.  They do not currently offer a community or free edition, but they have in the past.  The trial version requires registration with a working e-mail address to download and activate/license as a trial.  They also host a community support portal in case you have questions about using the product.

Idera ER/Studio
